So as I mentioned in my recent post, I spent a chunk of the last month playing My Vow To My Liege, which I really enjoyed!

I have since bought the company's earlier game, Lost In Secular Love, which is about sexy not!Buddhist monks. I haven't played much yet but it looks fun :D

I stumbled on a demo for the game Royal Order and am intrigued. The studio did another game called Royal Alchemist and I'm poking around for opinions of it now to see if maybe I want to pick it up.

Been a bit of a sad month otome wise for me...

Last month I learned that Lovestruck is shutting down (in march) and, while I see lots of people are trying to record the games, I found myself feeling... pretty unwilling to go into the app. I've got over 1700 hearts saved up and no spoons to spend them. :( I'd just finished Helena's route before I discovered the news, and that one's basically considered the height of Lovestruck. But there were some really solid sounding routes in the middle of being released and now they won't get any sort of conclusion outside these summaries of the plans.

From what I gather the staff didn't know they were going to be shutting down. They were actually hinting at a new Reigning Passions route coming out not that long before the shutdown announcement. And now we won't know who it was going to be.

I tried using Bluestacks to play Tears of Thermis, because my phone doesn't have enough storage and apparantly the creators of that game have a thing for making absolutely MASSIVE games. ToT is almost 4GB with the korean voice acting pack downloaded. Unfortunately, that turned out a no go because it kept crashing at a certain point in the prolouge.

Rose of Winter kinda provided me with a much needed breath of sillyness and fresh air otome wise, so thanks for that. (It also may have stirred the beginnings of an idea of my own...).

I've also been playing Lucydream's "Queen's Number", the original version, not the remake that's in their library app (which, apparantly, only has one route????), and loving how strong a person the MC is. She really is the one who drives the story, and the LIs are sorta dragged, with varying degrees of willingness, in her wake. I've completed Freyr's route so far and didn't expect to like him as much as I did.

That's really sad about Lovestruck, for both the players and devs. I'm glad Rose of Winter could provide a cheery alternative!

Indeed.
I'm keeping an eye on VOW, a group of Lovestruck writers who did a strike in 2020 and then left, and formed their own company to make their own visual novels.
