Favorite otome game: *looks at my 100K+ words of words of fic* Hakuoki, vampire samurai 5ever :) Second fave is probably Hustle Cat, or We Know The Devil.
Other interests: I make my own visual novels! Also, I like romance novels, Bioware games, and other sorts of interactive stories with visual elements.
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: I have a whole bunch of reviews on my dating sim tag. Also, I'm the moderator here!

Favorite otome game: Nameless ~The one thing you must recall~
Other interests: Anime manga in general, visual novel in general, good light novels, BL, GL, harem of all kinds
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: I'm mainly gushing about BL and harem...but I also write things about games (VNs in general). I rarely play otome games now, but I still love it. Hopefully I can finish some otome games that are now dusty on my shelves. I like to read other people's reviews for some reason, too, so I'm looking forward to read other people's things.

Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: Hello! I'm totally new to Dreamwidth and one of the first things I thought of to do is check to see if there's any otome communities! I've mostly just been playing untranslated otome lately, and I'm obsessed with Koei's Neoromance otome games. Nice to meet you all!

Date: 2019-12-25 15:27 (UTC)Hello and welcome! I'm a big Hakuoki fan and keep looking at Nightshade, how did you find it?
no subject
Date: 2019-12-25 17:50 (UTC)I found Nightshade while looking for Switch games and played most of the routes while traveling. I love it a lot and I look for every opportunity to get people into its fandom. :) It's gleefully ahistorical melodrama with plot twists and fantasy ninja powers and loads of angst. It deals a lot with questions of duty and conflicted loyalty, loss, and dealing with trauma (generational or otherwise). The heroine is great and a lot of the game is focused on her finding her strength (whether emotional or as a fighter) and defying her fate and the role that's been prepared for her.
My biggest caveat is that this thing needs content warnings -- suicide comes up frequently, in the form of suicidal ideation and dealing with someone's suicide. Also, (maybe because this was my third game?), I was not expecting the route that was a gaslighting codependency simulator.
I've blogged some reactions, though they are spoilery: https://scytale.dreamwidth.org/tag/otome:+nightshade

Favorite otome game: i'm gonna have to go with the classic code:realize franchise. the writing is just too good in a literary sense and i adore the steampunk setting and character designs.
Other interests: writing, drawing, reading, osu, singing, travel, anime/manga
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: let's be friendsssssssss!
Re: hi there
Date: 2020-06-03 05:07 (UTC)Hello and welcome! Code Realize is SO GOOD. I've only played the base game and a little of the Future Blessings DLC, but I really need to finish it one of these days. I love all the characters and the setting so much.

Favorite otome game: A super tough one! But if I had to choose, I'd probably narrow it down to Hakuouki, Nightshade, and Code Realize. Piofiore has also sneaked its way up to the top of the list as well.
Other interests: Playing non-otome videogames, writing, and sleeping
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?: Recently got back into playing otome games, so trying to catch up on all the latest ones, lol. Also sometimes I write reviews of the otome games I've played for fun. Looking forward to being a part of the community! It's very nice to meet everyone ^^

Date: 2020-11-16 19:03 (UTC)Nice! I didn't think I'd like Piofiore so much when I initially played it, but the story is engaging and the art is beautiful. Fell in love with it afterward!

Date: 2021-02-01 09:47 (UTC)Hello and welcome! Your art is very cute :) I don't speak Korean but have really enjoyed Cheritz's games, if you have any recs for other games translated into English I'd love to hear them, and hope you have fun learning Korean, it's a cool language from what I've seen.
(Sorry for the late reply my inbox fell on top of me)

Date: 2021-02-02 12:29 (UTC)The only reccomendation I have is for Story Taco/Lucydream's Dangerous Fellows, I've played a few from Day7 but they didn't really grab me and the translation of those tended to be a bit... mediocre. I'm currently getting through Mystic Code (Lucydream) but from what I see you don't really wind up dating anyone in it.
Oh, and both those companies have a tendency to Anglecise their English translations. Like in Dangerous Fellows all the NPCs have English names and at one point Ramyeon (Korean Instant Ramen) is translated as... potato chips. This is obvious because there's a CG with the scene that shows the unedited pot of nootles. Like... they could have translated it as Ramen or even Instant Noodles if they had to. And in Mystic Code they acknowledge they are in Korea but still anglecise the most important character's names, which is particularly bad with "Leona Carlson" and her siblings... Hyunpo, Hyunhee, Hyunai...

Favorite otome game: Tokimeki Memorial Girl's Side 2
Other interests: Gaming (especially JRPG videogames), drawing, watching films/telenovelas, and a bit of sloppy translating
Anything else you'd like to tell us about yourself?:
I've subscribed to this community a while ago but only had the courage to introduce myself now, my bad. TwT I'm a huge Tokimeki Memorial fan, so I'd love to talk about the games in the series! The TMGS games are the only otome games I played, but I'd love to hear recommendations.
Re: Yo!
Date: 2021-03-03 12:23 (UTC)Hello and welcome! It's never too late to say hi :)
I've always wanted to play one of the Tokimeki games but wasn't sure where to start. Are any of the ones available for phone or PC worth playing?
Re: Yo!
Date: 2021-03-03 16:54 (UTC)I don't play mobile games, so I can't give recommendations regarding that, and as far as I am aware, none of the games have PC versions. orz
Re: Yo!
Date: 2021-03-04 02:41 (UTC)Ah, oh well, thanks! It looks like TMGS4 will be out for Switch, which I do own, so that's something to look forward to!
