Date: 2020-06-22 05:00 (UTC)I finished Ikki's, Kent's, and Shin's route. And then I finished Toma's bad ending, which was...uh, a thing.
I thought it was great psychological horror, and I like the way it escalated. And how the hints for it were there in the prologue and Shin's route! But I would have probably would have enjoyed it better if the MC had a stronger personality, whether she was horrified or into it or not, because without it, I ended up leaning on my feelings. And my feelings wanted MC to kick Toma in the face and sensibly run away
and date Shin, and the game didn't allow me to do anything of those things. D:no subject
Date: 2020-06-24 15:26 (UTC)Yeah it's QUITE SOMETHING. As I recall I got the sense in the good Toma end that they were vaguely implying that this MC was also kinda messed up and liked that about him, but if they'd really leant into that it would have been much more engaging and shippy.

I felt like they were trying to get me to do something like that but I just...couldn't bring myself to pick the options. xD
I felt like they were trying to go for the vibe in the normal dialogue with Orion too. And maybe there's a CG or a memory I missed, I pretty much picked all the options I wasn't supposed to. :P
I felt really bad for Orion in the bad ending. ;_; Poor kid, he just wanted things to turn out okay.
I think I'm going to try one more guide-less run before I give up and use a guide for the good ending. I'm assuming the trick is to trust Toma no matter hat he does, and I want to see if I can figure it out unspoiled.
(I think this is the first otome game where I've actually cared enough about the puzzle aspect, which is interesting!)
