A nostalgic visual novel where you design your own character and grow from childhood to adulthood with the lonely boy next door. Create an experience that’s all your own in this near-fully customizable, choice-heavy story. Our Life: Beginnings & Always is a feel-good simulation, as well as a “feel-better” one, where painful emotions such as sadness, anger, stress, and worry can all be expressed, then met with reassurance, understanding, and support.

The base game is free, and tells a complete story with a single male love interest. There are currently three $4 DLCs adding extra non-essential scenes. There will eventually be a fourth DLC with a wedding, and then two more for other romances. The player character can have any gender but I think the love interests are all men.
This game is very well made for what it is, and I liked the main romance, but most of it is gentle low-plot slice of life about children having wholesome adventures, which I found unbearably boring. Here's my full review.
But basically every other person I've spoken to who's played it absolutely loved everything about it. So if it sounds like your sort of thing, give it a shot, and you'll probably have a much better time than me! If you have played it, what did you think?
