If noone else has a suggestion, I feel like we should do Diabolik Lovers some time, since it's such a big name, even if it's hard to play in English.

Well! I am going to suggest
Mysterious Forum and 7 Rumours, by Entabridge. It's not a romance game, it's a japanese horror game, so you can expect things like death, body horror, gore (though that's mostly implied by the writing rather than depicted outright) and bullying. There's probably a ghost of someone who died of suicide at some point but I can't remember anything like that.


It's a visual novel style game where you take the roles of the members of a high school newspaper club that runs a forum where people can report supernatural rumours and ask for help. The thing is, the rumours people post seem to modify the truths they are based on... .

The translation of it is a bit dodgy and funny at times but if you don't mind it the sheer LOVE the creators put into it shows through. And from the beginning things are not always as you might expect them to be from other experences with J-horror stories.

It's also a pretty much genuinely free mobile game with NO premium currency, and it's easy to play it all without even seeing a single ad. You can only spend money on it once you have seen 100% of the free content, and it's like £1 for a bonus story that is well worth it.

I'm a bit sad that this doesn't seem to have sustained the company, they haven't released or updated any games in a while... .

That game looks really interesting! But is it otome? It looks like it's in a grey area, since it has a mixed gender cast and no overt gendered tropes I could see. It might be nice to have a discussion post about games we like which are ambiguously-otome or otome adjacent, but idk if I'd make one game of the month.

Yeah I did figure it was iffy. I do think that the story is overall more targeted AT girls, but it would more belong in a blended discussion.
