I was thinking Mystic Messenger. It's pretty popular, and has an interesting, if divisive, mechanic.

I'm going to suggest my first ever Otome Frozen Essence. It was the first otome I ever played, and it's completely free. Not exactly the most polished, but it's also the creator's first game.

Ooh, looks intriguing! It would be nice to have a little indie game I haven't played, for some variety (since I choose most of the game of the months and obviously will only choose things I've heard of). Anything you'd add for people thinking of playing it, like what it's good and bad parts are?

Well, it was such a long time ago I can't really remember anything standing out as bad... aside from there's one guy's route that you have to raise the "affection" of the one non mc major female character in order to access. Just let me romance her! Or not have a romance route! The girl is someone you meet along with the other LIs while the dude you get instead of the girl's route comes later.

According to the tv tropes page, one of the routes has a flashback to a time someone tried to rape the mc and she killed them. So people might need that warning.

I do remember the 'bad' endings being pretty worth it. There's even one where the MC basically becomes a dark goddess of a cult, if you play her as being manipulative and power hungry in one route. Her personality really changes depending on how you play the game.

I don't think the sort of people who can only do one route per game would like this one. They'd be missing out on a good chunk of overall lore and their one route would probably not be the one that reveals the most about MC's past, that route is a bit hidden.
