Cinders is a witty young woman living with an overbearing stepmother and her two daughters, as if she was reenacting a certain well-known fairy tale. But unlike its protagonist, Cinders is not afraid of taking fate into her own hands. Even if it means breaking the rules...

The game takes a look at four women and what made them who they are. It’s a story about freedom, dreams, sisterhood, and finding your own Happily Ever After that may not exactly agree with the stale morals of classic fairytales.

With multiple endings, 120 decision points, and over 300 choices, Cinders gives you total control over the main character’s personality and how her story unfolds.

The game chosen for November is Cinders! Finally!

This is a game I've seen recommended a lot since I started getting interested in otome games and visual novels, however I still haven't played it myself.

Anyone here has played? Tell us about it ♥

I played Cinders about a year ago and I found it a fun take on the Cinderella fairytale. For people who always wished for Cinderella to take a more active role in getting herself out of the situation she was put in, they should enjoy this game a lot.

The art is very detailed, showing sides that are both rough and gorgeous for different scenes and characters, and each ending has multiple variations depending on the choices made over the course of the game. Of note, the "correct" choices (or the ones that lead to kinder outcomes at least) are not always the most obvious by otome game logic but make perfect sense in the context of the story.

It's fairly short. Even when getting every ending (though not every variation), I spent less than 10 hours on it. It's definitely something I would recommend picking up if you have the means.

Steam has a guide that will help you unlock all of the Steam Achievements. Upon completion of that, you will probably have gotten both the "best" and "worst" versions of most endings.

That's great! I'm really glad that you got to play it! It's a good game and worth playing for people who like Visual Novels. ^u^

I played it years ago, tbh I mostly recced it because it's pretty in a different way to most pretty otome. Amazing job, by the way, the comm looks gorgeous!

But I did enjoy playing it. I vaguely recall the writing being entertaining and clever, and it being fun to replay as a very different sort of character.

I liked this game a lot, I liked the different approaches to the Cinderella story that you could choose. The mother and stepsisters can each be evil or understandable and the fairy godmother can be two different kinds of things. I couldn't connect to the romance at all, Tobias was the only one to appeal to me at first but once I redid the game to get his happy endings I was underwhelmed by them. But I loved the mother and stepsisters and kept playing until I could get a good ending with all of them.
