otome_gamesAfter more than a year of great layouts cherry is stepping down from doing the game of the month banners, which means we need a new general banner for the community. I was going to just chuck together some varied otome characters, but then I realised this would be a fun chance to represent the tastes of the community and have some discussion!

Protagonist: Enju from Nightshade. She has such a great arc. Though I do love Cardia from Code Realize being MADE OF POISON, and the protagonist of XOXO Droplets being such a cheerful jerk.
Love interest in general: Probably Saito from Hakuoki? I love me a good kuudere.
Love interest from a game originally in Japanese: Other than Saito...Yukimura from Samurai Love Ballad Party and Victor from Code Realize (do I like subby guys yes I do)
Love interest from a game originally in English: HMMM. Graves from Hustle Cat? Benito from Backstage Pass? Pran from XOXO Droplets? Damian from Magical Diary is certainly interesting.
Love interest from a game originally in some other language: Maybe Red from Nameless? I adore Jaehee from Mystic Messenger but her route loses points for the romance being so understated.
Unusual looking love interest (pigeon, headless horseman, etc): Shuu from Hatoful Boyfriend, he's so delightfully terrible. The way Canus's head-flames change to match his mood is pretty cute, too.
Female/non-binary love interest: Ellen from Magical Diary was my first female otome LI and will always have a special spot in my heart, but I also have to mention Jaehee from Mystic Messenger and Mason from Hustle Cat. Kaede/Sogo from Samurai Love Ballad Party is my favourite non-binary LI, hands down, though I still haven't finished their route.
Non-romanceable character: Princess Sen from Hakuoki. I would romance her if I could ;_;
Other character you think would be good to have in the banner: I'm inclined to use San from Hatoful Boyfriend instead of Shuu because he has a better silhouette and is the game's mascot. I like the idea of adding someone from a painted game like Cinders or Akash just to capture the variety of styles otome can come in. I want at least one dark skinned character, possibilities include Virginia from Magical Diary, Rowan or Caspian from Akash: Path of the Five, and Pran or Nate from XOXO Droplets.
I'm thinking of using Il from Cafe Enchante for the icon since he is an otome fan himself and also prettily drawn.
