I'm playing Reverse Tale of Genji, which I'm surprisingly enjoying! It started out very slow (and I kept picking all the mean options), but it's growing on me. I'm playing Yugao's route and it's fun as someone who just finished that section of the book; there are more recognizable elements from the book later. The individual story segments are short and easy to get through. And I'm not feeling compelled by the suspense to want to spend money, which is good. I'm also struck by how the risk in the game seems to fall on the LIs (I'm pretty sure Genji will be fine emotionally and physically no matter how her flings turn out, but it's a different story for her LIs); it's a nice change and true to the book.

I finished all the best ends for Cafe Enchante and wrote them up: https://scytale.dreamwidth.org/tag/otome:+cafe+enchante

I'm also pondering what to play next. Maybe the CinPhen fandisc? Suggestions welcome! I'm trying to find something on the PC that I can play casually; in the last couple of games, I got so wrapped up in the suspense and the worldbuilding that I sped through all the routes. Nameless and Psychedelica are on my list, but I assume they would be very bad for "game that I can put down between routes". :)
